Overview

The National Museum of Islamic Art in Raqqada is a museum specializing in the arts of Islam and located on the archaeological site of Raqqada near Kairouan.
The museum specializes in medieval Islamic arts and contains works from Kairouan and the sites of Raqqada and Al-Mansuriya, a former princely city built in the Fatimid period.
The entrance is reserved for the Great Mosque of Kairouan and presents a reproduction of its mihrab as well as a model of the entire monument.
